Vicka found me on Instagram, and she described her vision so clearly that I remember smiling while reading it. She talked about planning a smallish wedding, around 60 guests, and being deeply drawn to an old-money aesthetic. Classic black and cream, gold and brass candlesticks, and lots of accessories. Timeless and refined, but still warm. And The Mansion at Woodward Park not only supports that kind of vision, but it is that vision.

The Mansion was the perfect setting for what Vicka and Matthew were creating. The marble floors, intricate mouldings, tall windows letting light spill in, and of course, the grand staircase did their jobs beautifully.

This was a warm December day, 70 degrees, two days before Christmas. Not on anyone’s bingo card, but very much appreciated. Vicka and Matt were more than happy to use it to their advantage, which meant extended outdoor portraits and a relaxed timeline.

A Meaningful Ceremony at The Mansion at Woodward Park

Vicka and Matthew are high school sweethearts. They knew of each other before junior year, but life didn’t line them up until it was ready. Matt’s proposal fits them perfectly. Vicka knew a proposal was coming soon, but timing-wise, it was a total surprise. He told her to leave an organizer at the door on move-in day (already suspicious behavior), guided her inside, and there was a blanket asking her to marry him and a rose petal heart.

One of the most meaningful moments of the day came at the very beginning of the ceremony. Vicka’s father has passed, and instead of filling that space with expectation or pressure, she met her mom at the start of the aisle.

Elevated, Old-Money Details in Tulsa, Oklahoma

This is the part where I admit I was fully obsessed with the table setup. Long tables, classic place settings, black napkins, glowing candlesticks, etc. What made it work so well was how seamlessly the design blended with the mansion itself.

As the evening unfolded, laughter filled the room. They also honored Vicka’s roots with a Russian-style wedding cake— a nod to family, culture, and the parts of her story that shaped who she is. This day was a celebration rooted in love, family, and shared history.
