There’s something magical about an October wedding in Texas, especially when the weather decides to play nice. There was no blazing heat, no rogue gusts of wind, just a perfectly crisp fall day under an overcast sky. Haley and Robert were gifted the perfect lighting for their classic Dallas rooftop wedding at 400 North Ervay.

This rooftop is a dream—timeless, chic, and intimate, with the Dallas skyline in the background. This day was so personalized and full of the little things that made it them.

Getting Ready & Their First Look

If one thing sets the tone for a wedding day, it’s the quiet, intimate moments before everything begins. For Haley, the morning was filled with laughing over inside jokes, hugs exchanged over her wedding day nerves, and one lovely surprise: a scrapbook her bridesmaids made for her. You could see the tears well up as she flipped through the pages. The details of the day were personal, and every choice reflected Haley’s timeless style.

This first look was a tender one. You could tell Robert couldn’t believe the woman standing before him was about to become his wife. I watched them read their private vows, wrapped in their own little bubble.

A Timeless Rooftop Wedding Ceremony in Dallas, Texas

Haley and Robert’s bridal party understood the assignment: how to bring the fun. It was a blast capturing their bridal party portraits before the big event. Then, they had a beautiful rooftop ceremony, the two standing hand-in-hand, promising a lifetime of love, laughter, and adventures.

After the ceremony, Haley and Robert stole away for some time alone (with me and my camera, but you get it)—the rooftop, now empty except for the two of them. I love how their portraits came out—elegant, authentic, and romantic.

Wrapping Up the Evening on the Rooftop of 400 North Ervay

When guests stepped out of the rooftop elevator, they were greeted with glasses of champagne, a perfect little toast waiting for the celebrations to begin. And then there was the champagne tower—because no classic Dallas rooftop wedding is complete without one. One of my favorite details may have been the personalized wine bottle with their marriage license.

When it was time for the reception to kick off, Haley and Robert made their grand entrance like seasoned pros. You could feel the energy shift. Then came the toasts, a rollercoaster of emotions in the best way. The dance floor was the place to be. Neighbors in the nearby high-rises joined in from their balconies (yes, that really happened). Haley and Robert’s reception was everything you’d want it to be—elegant, heartfelt, and fun as hell. It was the perfect way to close out the day.
